Their project is the study of cytotoxicity of the dextran-based particle in Human cells. The research is part of the research series, continued from Ariya’s and Supawadee’s projects. Both of them studied whether dextran-based nanoparticle would induce any cell viability in human cell lines or not. This leads to more understanding and further development of modified dextran-based nanoparticles.

Supawadee’s project is the study of the dextran-based particle formation. The research is part of the research series, continued from Ariya’s project. She will test the suitable condition for the nanoparticle formation based on modified dextran. This will lead to more understanding and further development of modified dextran-vinyl laurate.

Now, she continues her further study in Cosmetics at Mae Fah Luang University.

The senior project of Thitiwat and Nithi is the production of recombinant lipase and the study of its enzyme activities especially for the transesterification. In order to apply this recombinant lipase obtained from the thermotolerant yeast into the application, development of the amphiphilic dextran is the model of our study. Their project is collaborated project under supervision of Assoc. Prof. Chuenchit Boonchird, Depeartment of Biotechnology, Mahidol University.

Chawin’s project is quite different from the rest of the group, his work was in collaboration with Dr. Suparerk Borwonpinyo, Department of Biotechnology, Mahidol University. This project aims to develop the cell-based platform for screening of SGLT1 (sodium-glucose co-transporter 1) inhitor in order to further application in treatment of type 2 diabetes.

Ariya has completed her senior project entitled “Altering hydrophobicity of dextran with enzymatic reaction”. The idea of her work is to find the optimal condition for adding C-12 vinyl ester onto the dextran to make amphiphilic dextran.
